Answer the telephone!
Have you ever noticed how some small companies work very hard at appearing larger than they really are? One of my pet peeves is to call a small company (and I know it is a 2 or 3 person operation) and get caught in telephone answering hell! Press 1 for Sales, Press 2 for Sales if it is Friday, Press 3 for Service, Press 4 for Customer Support, Press 5 for Customer Support if it is Thursday, Press 6 for Customer Support if it the 3rd Wednesday of the month, Press 7 for contact information, Press 8 to talk to an answering machine, Press 9 to repeat this message.
JUST PICK UP THE FREAKING PHONE!
In my business we work very hard answering the phone. Most of the time, I answer the phone.
